healthAbility Photography Shoot: Capturing Community, Diversity, and Wellbeing

Client
healthAbility is an independent primary health and wellbeing provider, supporting tens of thousands of people each year across northern and eastern Melbourne, and interstate. For nearly 50 years, they have delivered services aimed at enhancing the whole person’s physical, mental, and social wellbeing.

Project
healthAbility engaged us to update their photography library to reflect and enhance their brand across key service areas. This project aimed to capture high-quality, authentic images aligned with healthAbility’s brand values, supporting their marketing and communications. Key services highlighted included Healthy Ageing, Mental Health, Corporate and Frontline Partnerships, and Community Engagement.

Purpose
The purpose of this photography shoot was to strengthen healthAbility’s brand positioning with visuals that are welcoming, diverse, and community-centered. These new images are intended to engage both existing and potential clients and partners, embodying healthAbility’s ethos: “Live your best life.” The images will be used across marketing channels to reinforce healthAbility’s inclusive, expansive, and trusted identity.

Flexible Approach
The project required flexibility to capture a variety of scenes and settings, accommodating diverse subjects including clients, staff, and community members.

Scenes included corporate interactions, community events, and personal moments, such as intergenerational activities and mental health support. We ensured each image could adapt to various formats while maintaining consistency with healthAbility’s established brand imagery and overlay requirements.

The client also requested b-roll footage and direct-to-camera content, so we collaborated with a videographer to create a comprehensive multimedia library.

The shoot took place over two days at three different locations. We coordinated all aspects, including hair and makeup, a producer, stylist, talent casting and catering.

We worked with a diverse group of 27 individuals, including both professional talent and healthAbility staff, representing a wide range of ages, genders, and cultural backgrounds. This diversity helped authentically reflect healthAbility’s commitment to inclusivity and community representation in every captured scene.

 Deliverables
The final deliverables featured a range of images across key themes:

  1. Healthy Ageing: Seniors engaging in activities such as gardening, exercising, and socializing.

  2. Mental Health: Youth and mental health support interactions, including mentoring with therapy animals and SSG Men’s Shed sessions.

  3. Corporate and Frontline Partnerships: Images of staff-client interactions, professional meetings, and reception scenes.

  4. Community Engagement: Public spaces showing accessibility and inclusivity, reinforcing community connection.

Each image was produced in formats optimized for digital and print platforms, ready for integration into healthAbility’s marketing and communications efforts.
